Numerous winter sports offers
In the Sierra Nevada numerous activities are offered in winter. For example, nocturnal athletes can check out the program »Esquí nocturno«. Within this program you can ski or snowboard on Thursdays and Saturdays from 19.30h to 22.30h. For those who want to climb almost to the top of Pico Veleta (3.398 metres) at dusk to enjoy a spectacular view of Granada, the municipalities of the Costa Tropical or Almería, there is a program called »Atardecer en el Veleta«. A snowmobile will take the participants to the roof of Pico Veleta. To do this kind of tour, it is necessary to have a group of at least ten and a maximum of twelve people. The tour will take about two hours. In addition, simple rides with a snowmobile through the landscape of the Sierra Nevada are offered.
The activity park »Mirlo Blanco« is certainly interesting for children. There, the little ones can ride on a unique roller coaster between 10h and 16.30h and try different slides. Fun in the snow without skis is the motto of this activities park which is located 2.100 metres above sea level.
In addition, skiers and snowboarders can go to their limits with daring jumps in the Movistar Bag Jump pipe or speed up in the Audi Ski Run. For children who do not want to ski or snowboard, a ride on a snowmobile that they can steer themselves is ideal. To end a winter day in the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Yhi Spa is worth a visit.
