The chapel of the patron saints of Vélez-Málaga
The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios is the pilgrimage church of the patron saints of Vélez-Málaga. It was built in the 16th century and had a great influence on the inhabitants of the community. Because they worshiped their patron saint, Father Vedmar founded the Lay Brotherhood "Nuestra Señora de los Remedios". The chapel is located on the mountain Cerro de San Cristobal in Vélez-Málaga. It consists of a simple facade. In front of the chapel there is a large square with views over Vélez-Málaga up to the beaches. A saint statue and an artificial lake make the Ermita a real highlight in Vélez-Málaga. (Editor/Photos/Video: mit – Source: Tourism Office Vélez-Málaga)
