El Salvador: Church in Baroque Mudejar style
In 1505, craftsmen began to build the parish church El Salvador in Nerja in a style of the Baroque Mudejar. The face of the church as we know it today was, however, created between 1776 and 1792 during extension works on the church. Over time, many improvements were made to the church. In the 19th century, it was enlarged and then in 1997 completely reformed. The structure consists of three longitudinal spaces, the so-called ships. The middle ship is the largest. It is roofed by a wooden vault. The roofing of the two aisles consists of cross-burr and barrel vaults. (Editor/Photos/Video: mit – Source: Provincial Administration of Málaga)
