Explanation: In the 2023 municipal elections, 14.497 (57,44%) voters supported the PP. The PSOE received 4.647 (18,41%), VOX 2.070 (8,2%) and Con Andalucía 1.655 (6,55%) votes. The PP has 17, the PSOE 5 and Vox 2 councillors. Con Andalucía has 1 councillor.
History
For the first nine years after Franco, Torremolinos was part of the city of Málaga, which is why Torremolinos and Málaga had the same mayor from 1979 to 1988.
