Fiesta de las Migas - Torrox celebrates its breadcrumb festival
For centuries it was the main meal of the farm workers: the migas. This is a dish whose main ingredients are bread crumbs, olive oil and garlic. It is not known exactly how old the migas are and where they originally came from. But the dish is still revered: for example in Torrox. There, every year between the middle and the end of December, the Fiesta de las Migas is celebrated. From everywhere inside and outside the province of Málaga, visitors flock to the municipality to receive a free plate of migas and spend a nice day with other visitors. While the migas are handed out in the northern parking lot of Torrox Pueblo, on the Plaza de la Constitución they are celebrating with great music in a relaxed atmosphere.
Big success
According to the local administration, over 40.000 people attend the Migas festival in Torrox every year. For the preparation of the dish including salad about 1.500 kilos of semolina flour, 200 kilos of wheat flour, 1.500 kilos of tomatoes, 220 kilos of onions, 200 kilos of oranges, 120 kilos of cod and olives (each), 80 kilos of garlic and 40 kilos of salt are used. In addition, 500 liters of olive oil flow.

Gala for the 41st Migas Festival on the Plaza de la Constitución in Torrox Pueblo. During the gala there will be a choir meeting, a performance by the group Choirs & Dance, an opening speech by the event City Council and the Mayor and much more.
13.45h:
March towards the northern parking area of Torrox Pueblo (Llano de Almazara) accompanied by the Verdiales group "Coto tres Hermanas". On the parking area begins the tasting with the migas.
14.30h:
Concert of the singer Jose Manuel Soto on the Plaza de la Constitución in Torrox Pueblo.
16h:
Party "Super tardeo" with DJs Vicman Romero and Mike Sildavia on the Plaza de la Constitución.
